Tho Morning Post says that Lloyd’s, the underwriters, have decided to raise the New Zealand homeward rates by 2s 6d per cent., except for meat and grain, and similarly to raise the Australian homeward shipment rates, directly an agreement can bd signed. Tho Morning Post comments that it is remarkable that meat is exempted, and adds that it will bo interesting to see how far the additional half-crown on Australian cargoes can be made effective.
