EPIDEMIC DYING OUT.

Sydney, July 29

Three smallpox cases are reported in the city to-day; ono from l-lmar-ra. Three thousand have been vaccinated.

Adelaide. July 20

Ono of the suspects m quarantine is declared not to be suffering from smallpox.

The Warrimoo on August 20th from Dunedin takes up the running of the Wiliochra, which was laid up owing to the decrease of passenger traffic through the epidemic. The aipor. leaves Melbourne for New Zealand as a special cargo steamer.

Owing to the strict quarantine regulations to Fiji, it is probable that the Union Co.’s Island steamer win omit Fiji on the run from Sydney tc, Auckland, and call at Fiji on the return voyage. The steamers will thm bo out from Sydney for the full term required by tho Fiji regulations.

The following bulletin was is'suec by the Chief Health Officer this even ing dealing with the smallpox outbreak :

Dr. Frengley reports from Auckland that no further cases are reported in Auckland and suburbs smet Saturday night. Dr. Cawkwell reports to-day tha tuero are six fresh 'cases at Rukatao; also seven convalescent cases at the temporary hospital at Kaikohe are doing well. Dr. Gunn reported last evening that there were three now cases at Parawera, To Awamutu way, and two caseswere now in isolation camp.. These are contacts with the man who died of the haemorrhagic form of the dis ease. The total in the hospital at Auckland is 61, five Maori males, one European male and one Maori female a total of seven, being discharged to dav.

There are no further cases report ed from the other districts to-day.
