John Norton is suing, David Herald, a solicitor, for £3OOO damages for alleged negligence in conduct in defending the action Archbishop Clarke v. Norton, for alleged Übel in con-

nection with the Nash case. Plaintiff's counsel stated that Norton is

not pressing for damages, but merely wanted to vindicate his character. Nortor complained that Herald had ~r*

informed him that Canon Nash hud refused to give certain evidence, which the defence relied on. If Norton had known this, he would have effected a settlement earlier than he did. The case was adjourned.
