AN EX-PRISONER'S GRIEVANCE.
. f) _—, —. TPer Press Association.] Wellington, July 2R
A prisoner complained in the Supremo Court that a letter K"nt tc him addressed to Mt. Eden Gaol, had been re-addressed to him in the same envelope, and had ruined his chance to make a fresh start.
Mr Justice Chapman agreed that it was not right to forward a letter to a time-expired prisoner in the way alleged, and the prison authorities should be informed it was a matter of which notice might be taken by the Minister.
Tho Chief Gaoler at Wellington states that the rule is never to readdress letters except in new envelopes.
