[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.35 a.m.) Sydney, July 27. The scow tramp abandoned off Newcastle on the sth inst., has been sighted floating.in latitude 35.1 south, longtitudel 153.13 east, and is a danger to passing vessels.

Mrs Christina Callonder, a recent arrival from New Zealand, was drowned at Thirroul, where she was staying with a companion. The latter, on visiting her bedroom in the morning, found Mrs Callender missing. Her body was discovered on the beach. Deceased is described as having been of eccentric habits. An open verdict was returned.
