King George, at Buckingham Palace, pinned 59 polar medals on members of the Scott Expedition including Lady Scott, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Evans and the mothers of Lieut. Bowers nnd Capt. Oates. He also gave the Albert Medal to Lashly and Crean. S : lvor polar medals given to those who rrade more than one voyage and bronze medals to the rest.
