The sucragettes intended to presen. .i memorial against the Cat and Mouse Bill, and some were admitted to St. otepnen's Hall, accompanied by Sii Edward Busk. Mrs Lawrence attempted to address members, and a violent scene followed. Her umbrella wai. broken over a policeman's head, anc anotner suffragette chased him witi. a hatpin. Mrs Lawrence, Miss Snarp, and Lady Sybil Smith were arrested. .Mrs Pankhurst has been released. L is alleged that her condition is critl cal.

At a meeting of a committee favoring the repeal of the Cat and Moust Act at Caxton Hall, a letter from Mi Asquith (.Premier) was read stating that if the findings of the conferenc. were submitted in writing, he wouk give them careful consideration, bu> it did not appear to him that any good would be served by receiving a deputation in reference to the Act, which was recently passed after a full debate.
REVIVAL OF MILITANCY
It is announced that the suffragettes have decided on a revival oi militancy on a larger scale. It is de blared that only a small proportior if women have been called out yet. ind they are determined to draw or :he reserve force. The Government :-ealise that it cannot crush the spirit )f the women.
STUBBORN WOMEN

Mrs Lawrence, Lady Sybil Smith, uid Miss Sharp refused to be .bound iver'to keep the peace, and were sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment. Mrs Pankhurst passed a bad night. The -doctors consider her condition s?rious, and resorted to a transfusion if blood with Mrs Drummond, avlio 'lad undergone an operation.
