A FEARFUL DEATH

William Massey was terribly injured yesterday by an explosion which was followed by fire in the Soltar Coy’s, works in Beaumont street. He was conveyed to the hospital and died this mbrning. Soltar is a new reading material. When the explosion occurred, the boiling tar overflowed from two tanks and caught fire. Massey was thrown on the floor and lay 1 unconscious amidst the blazing mass. Another employee, Avery, who had a narrow escape and two others, made fruitless attempts to rescue Massey. The fire brigade was summoned and got the jfire under control. Massey was then dragged out covered with the black liquid, being terribly burned. On examination at the hospital, he showed evidence of a fractured skull, and no hope of recovery was held out from the first. Massey was a married man, 2H years of ago.
