PRECAUTIONS LN QUEENSLAND
(Received 9.20 a.m.) (Brisbane, July 25. There is a case of smallpox in the Ipswich district.
The Government have ordered the prisoners in all (he gaols to be vao oinated. \
Strict precautions are to be enforced in connection'with passengers arriving in the trains from New South Wales.
A SYDNEY PROTEST,

The Labor Council carried a resolution expressing the strongest protest against compulsory vaccination.

Ajickland, July 25
There is one suspicious case in the city and three suspicious cases among the Maoris at Orakei. The Health authorities to-day state that notifications from the country are diminishing, and the patients there are reported to be recovering.
Dr, Frengley states that within ton to fourteen days all the Maoris in Auckland province will bo vaccinated. And ho anticipates the end of the outbreak at ,about a month hence.
