(Received 9.20 a.m.) (Brisbane, July 25. There is a case of smallpox in the Ipswich district.

The Government have ordered the prisoners in all (he gaols to be vao oinated. \

Strict precautions are to be enforced in connection'with passengers arriving in the trains from New South Wales.

Dr, Frengley states that within ton to fourteen days all the Maoris in Auckland province will bo vaccinated. And ho anticipates the end of the outbreak at ,about a month hence.
