The Premier (Mr Watt) refuses to, compromise. Mr McLeod anticipates. that by the combined forces of the Country and Labor parties he will defeat the. Government. Mr Watt, m the other hand, expects the country party will not vote solid and that lie will secure a small majority.

The Governor opened Parliament. The Speech, which was colorless, proposes measures to include household suffrage and legislative council reform. Brisbane, July 25.
In the Assembly, Mr Adamson moved a motion in favor of a division of Queensland into three States. The Premier opposed the motion. The debate is unfinished.
