BRITISH AND AMERICAN MOVES
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.15 a.m.)

Mr Riseley, a merchant, visits Australia in October to promote development trade with Bristol.
The Washington correspondent of the Times says:—“There are indications that an effort is being made in the United States to divert Australian meat from Britain in order to counteract the rising cost of living in America. Besides putting on refrigerating steamers between San Francisco and Australia, the Government is sending experts to Australasia to teach packers to adapt goods for the American market. A similar campaign of education will be undertaken in South America. ,
