The King’s Prize for 1914 will be open to every branch of the‘Service. Competitors must shoot vrith a service rifle without extraneous’sights. The conditions are based on musketry tests and include rapid-firing and disappearing targets. (Received 9.40 a.m.) London, July 21.
The final decision regarding the new conditions governing the King’s Prize has been deferred until the autumn.

THE PROPpSED ENGLISH VISIT

The Management Committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association met to-night, 't The subrcommittee -appointed to consider tho proposed visit of an English representative team submitted a comprehensive report. The estimated cost of the team was £544. The committee requested that affiliated associations should guarantee £7BO pro rata. It was suggested that 14 matches should be played, including two at each of the centres. The report was adopted. The. Auckland Association has already offered a minimum guarantee of £IOO.
