A SUICIDE'S LETTER,
[Per Press Association.] Hastings, July 20
Douglas Watt, a horse trainer, and formerly a 'successful cross-country rider', committed suicide last night. Ho placed a double-barrelled gun in his .mouth and pulled the trigger by means of a necktie attached to his foot. A note left on the table near the hod stated: "If anybody thinks or says I am a cur for doing this he is a liar, because J have not had a drink, but will have one in a few minutee." He also left a letter addressed to a man named Hitchcock. .Deceased was unmarried and was about 36 years of age. His relations reside here.
IXDECISIVE INQUEST
Timnru, July 20
The adjourned inquest on Ernest T. Hill, a cabinetmaker, aged 23 years, who died on Wednesday afternoon after what appeared to bo a fit which occurred in the forenoon, was concluded to-day. Medical evidence on the post mortem examination was indecisive, and the stomach has been sealed for analysis, also a small bottle found in tho pocket. An overdose o{ chlorodyne lias been suggested «''« the possible cause of death.
BURIED BY LAND SLIP

A fatal accident occurred at Nukithan, somo fifteen miles from Waverley on Saturday, tho victim being a man named Thomas Sinclair (35), single. Deceased was forming a <}:iH •!> track, when a big land slip oerrn d, buiying him. Constable o'3 ion and party left Wavorley yestcrd iy for the scene, and dug the body out. It waa conveyed to Wav.uiey, where an Inquest will be hslu.
