Ten thousand dockers at Hull have struck for an increase of a halfpenny an hour at* night, and to cease work at five in the evening throughout the year.

The Union’s proposals in the new carpenters’ and joiners’ award include an increase of wages to Is 6d per hour and a 44-hour week.
