NORTH ISLAND POULTRY ASSOCIATION.
THE FEATHERS FLY
(Per Press Association.] Auckland, July 19
The annual meeting of the Nortu Island Poultry Association decided that the headquarters should remain at Auckland this year. A motion by Mr Gallichen (Wellington) to enable the affiliated bodies to subscribe to or amalgamate with any company, club, or society, with objects similar to the North Island was defeated.
In reply to questions by the Hustings delegate, it was stated that the New Zealand championships, limited, was a body formed in opposition to the main association, and that they intended to award certificates only for championships at the present time.
Some heated remarks were made by the Wellington delegate, who was asked by the chairman to withdraw certain statements. This lie refused to do. and left the rom.
It was resolved unanimously to confirm the action of the Associationin withdrawing the Orpington championships from the Wellington Society, and the meeting was strongly of opinion that their action in advertising the New Zealand championships were inimical to the interests of the Association.
Previous to withdrawing, the Wellington delegate moved that the North Island Association he disbanded. The motion lapsed for want of a seconder.
