Tarry states that he will retire after the race next week, and may visit Australia on a pleasure trip. He complains of the difficulty of raising the, stake, which was harder than ever on this occasion.
The London Sportsman declares that the feeling in rowing circles is that Barry will have to scull very hard to retain his title. Pearce's singular improvement lias surprised excellent judges.
