THE CHEESE MARKET,
[Per Press AISSOCIATION.] Dunedin, July 15,
Mr J. B. Scott, secretary of the South Island Dairying Association, intimates that lie has received orders from a West of England firm to buy 200 tons of cheese, October to April output, inclusive, at 6d per lb f.0.b., and that three other firms are already offering the same price to several factories. In reply to a cablegram Bint Home, Mr Scot: has received advice that the market is firm with an upward tendency. Canadian iupplies ere 'short and are likely to be so till the end of the season. There are c.nly j moderate supplies of the same make.
NEWTON KING’S STRATFORD WEEKLY REPORT.
At the Haymarket on Saturday there was a large attendance. Pigs were penned in fair numbers chiefly stores. There was a good demand for all classes, every pen being sold. I quote slips and vveaners 11s 6d to 16s 6d, small stores 19s to £1 6s 6d, medium to good do. £1 7s 6d to £1 13s 6d, •horses £l3 10s to £l6 ss, milk cart £7,' harness £3 10s, poultry (hens) Is 3d to Is sd, sundries, etc., as usual rates.
