(Notes by Cicero.)

The racing season of 1912-13. will be brought to a close by the Wellington Racing Club, whose winter fixture opens to-morrow and continues on Saturday. The acceptances are exceptionally large and representative. Xo less than twenty-four remain in the Stewards’ Handicap. Mummer, who recently won a treble at GlsDonm and does not incur a penalty, will see a very short price. Theodore and Kaniki also have recent form to recommend them.

The fine field of eighteen have cried content for the Hack Steeplechase. Fireworks (who is'very well at present) and Otupai should be well supported.

Should Field Force start in the Trial Plate he (will carry! Hot- of money. In his absence Pavlova and Kew will probably divide favoritism.

The large number:-of -eighteen are left in the Wellington Steeplechase after the final paymnet. At least a dozen have a chance. Glenmore, The Native and Dorando are all nicely placed, and barring accidents, should make the race interesting. Of the seventeen acceptors for the Parliamentary, Haskayne and Kilrain have been backed- toji . win a lot o* money. Both are exceptionally well in, and "are sure to he" hard to beat.

Although including some fair performers, the field engaged in the Winter Hurdles could not he described as a first-class lot. Coronetted is at a very short price, and were the “double” cards any guide the race is as good as over. Darby Paul is going well, and the same applies to Peary, who is greatly fancied by his connections.

The large number of twenty-three accepted for the Te Aro Hack. Paoli and Field Force will he strongly supported, and are sure to run well.
