PREMIER BOTHA HELD UP

The African World reports that a body of armed strikers held up General Botha and Mr Smuts last Saturday. General Botha said "Shoot if you like. We are here to make peace. If vou shoot, that is finished with."
Johannesburg, July 12
The dispute at New Kleinfontein has been settled and the troops and police have been withdrawn from the mine. The miners withdrew their objections to the officials.
MEETING OF UNEMPLOYED
[Per Press Association.] Dunedin, July 13
At a meeting of unemployed yesterday morning, 70 men handed in their names as being out of work. Of this number 54 are married and have dependent on them 204 persons. The average time the men have been out of work is a'wut three or four weeks.
