At a meeting of the Waihi Borough Council last evening the 1 following resoMtiPn was passed: That this Council strongly resents the’ reports and statements made in the (House of Representatives in regard to the late trouble in Waihi by Messrs Robertson and Payhe : as? being unfounded and contrary to fact, and that this Council -congratulates Mr Massey and Mr HctdrAan for promptly denying sucli statements and placing before member’s the pliln’remarks relative to such happenings.
