LOCAL LADIES’ MATCH
The h’ raiio'H ladies’ High School team played tin, ladies’ team a challenge match yesterday in the Regan Street grounds, when the Higli School team (challengers) were victorious to the tune of three goals to nil. In the first spell the High School team looked as if they were going to have it all their own way, but in the second spell although the Stratford ladies did not score, they played decidedly the bet-. ter game, and only missed several good goals through the want of a good “shot.”
In the Stratford ladies’ team, Miss Howitson, Miss Mackay, and Miss Hobson, were the pick of the forwards, with Misses Eryday, Dickenson and Jones in the backs. The pick of the High School team were Misses Paget, White and Partridge in the forwards, a and Misses Stoddart, Rogers and Low in the backs.
The Stratford ladies entertained the High School team at afternoon tea in the Medina Tea Rooms after the match. Mr H. L. Lawrence controlled the game, and gave satisfaction to both sides.
A match will he played on Thursday next between the Stratford High School and New Plymouth High School teams.
