HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES,

Several strong dramas are included in the new bill to he screened at His Majesty’s Theatre to-night. “A Marriage of Convenience” is the story of Billy Emerson and Mildred Girard, who are secretly engaged, Mildred’s father insists on her marrying John Morley. After his marriage, John’s father discovers that he has the morphine habit. John dies, and Mildred informs Billy Emerson, now stationed at the Philippines, saying how sac longs to see him. Billy cannot leave his so Mildred goes out to him and they are mafjpied in the sunshine of the tropics. Other dramas in the bill are “On the Steps of the Throne,” and “The Banger’s Horse.” A film which should excite much interest is “The Cormorant.” The cormorant nests in almost inaccessible crannies on the face of rocky cliffs. An egg collector is shown at wort, and there are splendid views of the nests and eggs and also of the birds themselves. The comic films to he shown are of the usual high order. A special feature flits week will he a line colored film of the pantomime “Puss in Boots,” which will he shown on Friday evening and also at a children’s matinee on Saturday.
