FOOTBALL.
B. REPRESENTATIVE TEAM. The Wairoa Sub-Union liave asked for a match with the Taranaki rep. team when on tour and the match will probably be played at Waverley. The Wairoa Sub-Union is in the first year of its existence, being under the jurisdiction of tlie Wanganui Union, and is formed of teams both from tne Taranaki and Wanganui Unions. Tne formation of the Sub-Union has greatly revived the interest in football in the district, which had formerly languished owing to the amount of travelling some teams had to do to take part in the South Taranaki fix tru es. THIS WEEK’S FIXTURES. The following fixtures have been set down for decision to-morrow; — Seniors.—Clifton v. Stratford, at Stratford. Juniors. —Clifton v. Tukapa at Waitara, 3 p.m. This is the match postponed from June 19, owing 'to Waitara not having a'ground. Second Juniors.—Commencement of the second round: New Plymoutn High School v. Technical College, at the racecourse, 3 p.m.; Stratford v. Stratford District High School, at Stratford, 1.30 p.m.; Clifton v. Star, at New Plymouth, 3 p.m. The desirability of holding a third round in the first junior competition will be considered later.
