JERSEY CATTLE SALE.

At the Dominion Horse Bazaar iHawera) on Saturday afternoon, .viossrs Gillies and Naldcr held a sale it pedigree purebred and grade Jerley cattle on behalf of Mr J. C. Monteiore. 'taken all round, the sale was considered a very good one. The highest prices realised was that of 37 guineas, obtained for the purebred Jer-;eV-Ayrshire, Joan, champion dairy cow of Taranaki, which was knocked town to Mr C. Goodson. But after cho sale, Mr Montefiore gave Mi - Goodjon £5 on his bargain. Joan has :aken 20 first prizes, 5 championships, jnd many special'prizes, including silver cup, Stratford Show, 1912. She is in calf to Mr C. Goodson’s imported jersey bull, The Squire. The following are the principal lots sold: — / Lot 10.—Bull, Kelso, 1083 (one 0 f twins), born November 28, 1910, bred by C. Davidson, Waitara—Mr W. A. Guy (Matapu), 15 guineas.
Lot 11.—Bull, Sultan’s Pride, born May 24, 1912'.—Mr Smith Dawson (Matapu), 14 guineas. Lot 12.—Purebred * Jersey-Ay rsliiro, bred by R .F. Cornwall, New Plymouth —Mr C. Goodson, 37 guineas.
Lot 13.—Merry Widow, purebred Jersey-Ayrshire, bred by R. F. Cornwall, New Plymouth—Mr Smith Dawon, 31 guineas.
Lot 14.—Princess May.—Mr P Milham, 25 guineas.
Lot 15.—Cherry Ripe (2-year-old)* Mr H. J. Am bury, 21 guineas.
Lot 16.—Buttercup, Mr J. Nicholson, 20 guineas.
The remainder of the lots sold realised from 10 to 20 guineas. In .addition to the foregoing lots Mr Short offered for sale three hulls of a good type, but as they did not reach the reserve they were passed in. Twenty-one guineas was the highest bid.
Mr G. Robinson’s Lady Pride, pedigree (not in calf), was sold to Mr Short for 10 guineas.
