The Ritchie-Rivers fight at Sar. Francisco roused tremendous excite ment. There was a great crowd Rivers led at the start and had Rit chie groggy in the fourth round. There was even fighting then until the eight! round, when Ritchie lead thereafter, winning with a knock-out in tin eleventh round.

HOCKEY. Last Thursday the Stratford Hockey team met the Kaponga B at Kaponga. The game was very fast, and for the first .spell very even, but gradually the good play of Coe and Everiss in the forwards and Curtis and Anderson in the backs gave Stratford the lead, and they ran out winners by' 5 goals to 2.
