“THE CALL OF THE SEA.” HONORING THE AUSTRALIAN NAVY. ] By Electric Telegraph—Copyright 1 [United Press Association.] (Received 8 a.m.) London, July 2. Sir George Reid, in his speech on board H.M.A.S. Australia, paid a tribute to the King’s warm interest in the Australian Navy. He thanked the Admiralty for co-operating and making the navy a success. “Australia,” he said, “is building a navy not because we are colonials, but because we are Britishers, and are responding to the call of the sea. Oui object is self-defence and prese’ \ atiou, not destruction.” Admiral Patey declared that the King, in honoring him, honored the Australian Navy.
