STRATFORD POULTRY SHOW.

FINE DISPLAY OF BIRDS. There was a “good house” at the Town Hall this morning, if there never was previously, the “house” consisting of cocks and hens of every description of poultry* from pigeons to Plymouth Rocks; and it was a demonstrative “house,” the cocks keeping up a continual round of crowing applause. At this year’s show the Society has about eighty more entries than last year, and the show of birds of all iireeds is very good indeed. r l he judging was done by Mr Thomson, of Remiiera, president of the North Island Poultry and Pigeon Society. lu the home industries section there ire forty-three entries, an excellent show of edibles being on view. Mrs '.Dr.) Cameron and Mrs A. Richardson are the judges in the section. The photography section is not so well supported as it deserves to be, the only exhibitors being Messrs. A. Grant and F. H. Wilkie, who, however, have a great variety of subjects entered. Mr McAllister is the judge. The baby show will be held to-mor-row, when,, also, the art union for nuggets from the Australian goldholds will be drawn. At 8 o’clock on Thursday evening, Mr T. I. Lamason will hold an auction sale of birds presented to the So- I ciety, and it is anticipated that valu- | able birds will bo knocked down at j reasonable prices.
