The evidence showed that he was suffering from the effects of liquor and sea-sickness. THE BROOME TRAGEDY. Perth, July 1. Spargo has been executed for the murder of Jones in May last. A cablegram from Perth, dated May 30, said : —Charles Spargo has been sentenced to death for the murder of Gilbert Jones at Broome. Jones was found shot in a swamp, and his property was discovered in the possession of Spargo, who also drew £2O in Jones’ name from the Savings Bank.

SYDNEY DOMAIN DISTURBANCE. Sydney, July 1. Carterer, the domain orator,, whom the crowd hunted on Sunday, was remanded on a charge of addressing an assemblage in language calculated to create a breach of the peace. The police described him as a rabid anarchist, decidedly against all authority, who would not hesitate to assail human life. He was a companion of Continental socialists. Carterer, describing himself as a Dane, denied that he was an anardust. Ho favored peace and order. Ihe trouble arose through Chidley, who was being hunted and leered at by a crowd, seeking his protection.
