LITTLE BOY SHOT DEAD.

UNDERNEATH A TABLE,

[Per Press Association.] Woodville, June 30,

The five-year-old son of John Todd, farmer, Papatawa, was shot dead on Saturday afternoon. Two brothers were hunting for mice in the storeroom. When a loaded gun taken from a corner 'was placed against the table, it fell down and went off, the full charge striking the little fellow, who was sitting underneath the table, fair in the forehead. Death was instantaneous. At the inquest held yesterday a verdict of accidental death was returned.
