Mr Hindmarsh, an inspector for the Bank of New Zealand, is to take the place of Mr W. R. Gibbs as manager of the bank at Timarn.
The death is announced from Christchurch of Mr Henry Sawtell, who was a member of the Provincial Council in the early days, and Mayor of Christchurch in 1872. He was seventynine years of age.
The death has occurred of Mr H. Neill, a well-known and highly-re-spected jeweller, of Dunedin, who was a prominent Mason, 70 years of age. He Was initiated into Lodge Kilwinning in 1868, and was elected to the highest offices of the Lodge.
Mr Edmund Goodbehere, ex-Mayor of Feilding, associated with public bodies in the district for twenty-four years, being twelve years Mayor, six years councillor, was last night made a presentation by the ratepayers of a silver salver and two silver entree dishes, accompanied by engrossed letter parchment.
