THE PORTE APOLOGISE.?.

The Porte has apologised to Sir Gerald Lowther. the British Minister, fc." ndniobsßi-vaiico of capitulatory privileges at Pera. In connection with the assassination of Sblflret .Pasha early this month the British Minister at Constantinople protested to the Porto against the violation of a British subject';, domicile at Pera, gendarmes having forced their way through the roof to enable them to capture the suspected assassins. The Minister said the action was an infraction of the treaties, inasmuch as consular assistance was not obtained.
