TRINIDAD.
i THE DUTCH OIL SYNDICATE. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) [United Press Association.] (Received 11.50 a.m.) London,' June 24. A White Paper has been issued giving details of the agreement between the Crown agents of Trinidad with tho Shell Oil Royal Dutch Syndica+e regarding the rental of ten thousand pounds a year or a royalty of 2s per ton of crude oil, and one penny per thousand feet on gas. Tho Government retains the right to take ten per cent, of the crude oil, conceding a proportional reduction in the rent for the oil used. The Daily Chronicle complains of the practical monopoly of the syndicate by its securing the light to prospect and select a hundred thousand acres of the best oil-bearing properties, so that other producers are virtuuMy forced to sell oil to tho syndicate. Tho Chronicle proposes that i,'io Government lay a pipe-line.
