When Captain Halsey was here last week he turned a tap admitting crude oil into the Taranaki Oil Wells, Ltd.'s new refinery. There were still finishing touches requiring to h© made to the works, hut the directors now propose to have the formal opening on July 21st, and to invite Ministers and memhers of Parliament to attend the inauguration of the new industry. The Company's drilling prospects are improving.
