METHODIST CHURCH.

NEW S.S. CLASbROOMS. The new quarters of the Methodist Sunday School in Regan Sti'eet were crowded last night on the occasion of the concert and_ social held to mark their opening for use. Speeches were made by the Rev. Reader and Mesrs Boon (.Sunday School Superintendent), and Foster (vice-superinten-dent), Mr Boon explaining the arrangements made for the accommodation of scholars. A number of items were given by Sunday School children, whose training reflects great credit on Mbs Boon. The concert programme was opened with an anthem by the Sunday school choir, two other anthems being nicely rendered by the church choir. Dialogues were given t>y boys and girls, a humorous one by boys being especially good. It had to do with a transaction in cheese, and caused a good deal of merriment. Recitations were given by Alex. Cameron and Birdie Foster, and vocal solos by Keitha Martin, Vida Cameron, Hilda Henry, Ida Boon, Miss Cameron, and Mi Nelson. Barbara Riera contributed a pianoforte solo ,and Miss May Hopkins was encored for her violin solo. A vocal quartette by Misses Everiss and Messrs Nelson and Everiss was also well received. After the concert, an excellent supper was served, and a highly successful gathering was concluded about ton o’clock.
