THE LEAGUE GAME. Brisbane, June 18,
At Toowoomba, there was beautiful weather for the Queensland-New Zealand match. The New Zealanders gave a splendid exhibition of passing ;yid tackling. The final score was New Zealand 32, Queensland 6. Duvall, Ifwerson, and Hayward scored two tries each, and Hayward and Bradley one each. Ifwerson kicked four goals. Queensland secured two tries.
THE RUGBY GAME
MAORIS 11 v. QUEENSLAND 0
Brisbane, June 18
The Maoris defeated Queensland by eleven points to nil. There was beautiful weather and the game was vigorously contested. 'The Maoris’ passing was brilliant, and their defence very sound.
A TEAM FOR CALIFORNIA
NORTH v. SOUTH
Wellington, June 18. The New Zealand Rugby Union decided last night to send a team to California, leaving Wellington on October 10th. Not more than two matches weekly are to be played. The trip will last about three months. Messrs H. J. Mynott (Taranaki), Gallagher (Auckland), N. G. Cavanagb (Otago), and S. F. Wilson (Canterbury), will be the selectors of tbo team. Travelling expenses only are to be allowed to members of the team, nominations for which are to reach the selector's by July 7.
The following selectors for the North versus South Island match, to be played at Christchurch on July 26, were appointed:—North—Gallagher (Auckland), Mynott (Taranaki), Meredith (Wellington). South—Wilson (Canterbury), Cavanagb (Otago), Jenkins (Southland).
