A CHILD'S DEATH

The infant child, W. Peters, which was scalded on Monday by falling into a tub of water, died to-day.
NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW
Dull weather, with rain threatening, for the second day of the National Dairy Show. F. Peters (Waipawa) secured the apple championship, and the other principal prize tak73ts were Cmhing (Give), and Shailer and Sons (Palmerston).
THE ALLIANCE CONVENTION
Christchurch, June 18. The Alliance Convention this morn- | ing was addressed by the Rev. A. Doulhon legislative dangers, and carried a resolution affirming the demand of the party for the simple majority, which was only a just basis for a settlement of the liquor question.
