CARDIFF NOTES.
[from our own correspondent.] Another of the series of socials being held for the purpose of raising money to pay for the school piano was held on Friday evening. Sixtyfour players took part in the euchre tournament, the prizes going to Mist Brown, Mr E. Bennett and Mr S. Carley (booby). The ladies supplied an excellent supper, and the. rest ol the evening was devoted to dancing, Mr Stewart (violin) supplying the music. Mr D. Cameron capably carried out tlie duties of M.C. Miss Moir, from Out East, has taken Miss Smith's place at the local school. •••' ' ■:. ■.■■' Considering the time of year tin road to Stratford is in a fine GOndi tion, and it has every appearance oi keeping in good order through the winter. The dairy factory has been closed since early this month, and ,the annual cleaning up is now almost completed. Mr D. Cameron, factory manager, leaves in a few days for Hokitika, where he will take unto himself a wife, The fine new residence being built for him opposite the factory will soon be ready for occupation.
