Daniel Field, 25, who was employed on tho permanent way at Eureka, was riding a jigger on Saturday night, and was' struck by the Cambridge train and killed.

An accident which terminated fatally occurred at Mataroa late on Saturday afternoon. Harold Nielsen, 50, single, while-- employed removing a load of furniture, jumped.on the cart, and the horse started suddenly-. Nielsen lost his balance and fell. He became entangled in the reins, and was dragged some distance and the .wheel went over his head and down his body. Nielsen was,brought into the Taihape hospital and succumbed last night;
