A meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Hockey Association was held last night. It was decided with reference to the proposal for limiting the Association to one challenge per annum, that no change could be made from the present system. The following alterations and adlitions to rules were agreed upon:— (1) "No player shall take part in any representative matches unless he is duly elected a member of a club affiliated to the Association for which he is playing', and has resided within the boundaries of such Association for not 'ess than six weeks immediately pre"oding the match" ; (2). "if any case occur which, in the opinion of the management committee, the circumstances are exceptional, it shall be dealt with by the committee in such i manner as-,, it shall think just" ; (■)). "In rule 8 delete the words 'one month,' and insert the words 'two weeks' in place thereof, and add 'excepting ati annual meeting as provid>d in rule ten.' "; (I) rule 31, delete he word "six" and insert the word "three" in place thereof. It was decided to circularise affilited Associations to ascertain what upport they would accord to the -iroposal for a New Zealand team to visit Australia.
