Second Edition THE MARCONI ENQUIRY.

■ o J ELiBANK’S EVIDENCE. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association', j London, June 12. The Marconi Committee received the Master of Elibank’s cablegram as follows: “I beg the committee to accept the following evidence: I read Mr Lloyd George’s and the Isaacs’ evidence, and completely and absolutely confirm their statement regarding the joint interest in American Marconigrams. As chief whip I bought three thousand, which I still hold. Outside the foregoing, I never had any interest, personally or as whip,in any Marconigram shares, in any shape or form. I consulted Mr Frank Orisk, solicitor, about Fenner’s default, and agreed not to involve the new whip in the muddle, hut advise him later. Neither Mr Illingworth nor his colleagues knew of this or any whip investments. If the Committee desire, I will, regardless of business obligations, return with express speed.” The (Committee, on the motion of Lord Robert Cecil, cabled to Lord Murray a special report upon the qhargos against Ministers, which is already complete. If he returns bef fi re the final report is prepared, they will/ hear his evidence.

INTERIM REPORT. NO UNDUE INFLUENCE BY MINISTERS. SOLELY IN THE PUBLIC INTERESTS. (Received 8.10 am..) London, June 12. An interim report has been laid on the table. It is understood Sir Albert Spicer described Ministers’ conduct as indiscreet, but not corrupt, but .influence from the Falconer-Booth section caused an amended report to be carried by eight votes to six, which Exculpates Ministers. It says that the charges of undue Influence are baseless. The contract was made with the sole regard for the public interest. Mr Cecil’s report on behalf of the minority is very censorious. The report will be debated on Wednesday. FENNER, THE BANKRUPT. London, June 12. The case of Fenner, stockbroker, came before the bankruptcy court, and' Vos adjourned pending the issue of a warrant for his arrest. The liabilities total £120,000, including the Master of Elibank’s £30,000.
