The Wharf Laborers’ Union has adopted the constitution of the new transport workers’ federation, which it is intended will embrace the merchant service guild of Australasia, the Australasian Institute of marine engineers, the Federated Seamen’s Union of Australia, the Federated Carters and Drivers, and the Federated Waterside Workers’ Union. The Seamen’s Union has already adopted it. The engineers favour federation, but not in its present form. The carters and drivers have yet to deal with the question.
