The Gymkhana is the first of its kind in Taranaki, and includes such competitions as— Tug-of-war, Cock-fighting, Balaclava Melee, Tout-pitching, Marching, Tilting the Bucket, Boot Race, Lloyd-Lindsay, Bugling, Relay Race, Drill, Pillowfighting, Wrestling-on-horse-hack, Bun and Pop Race, Mounted Jumping, and the very amusing obstacle race,in Fancy Costume, in addition to the THREE MILITARY BANDS.
