WANGANUI BOROUGH FINANCE. [Per Press Association.] Wanganui, June 11. With reference to the proposal mentioned in a Gisborne telegram of a novel scheme to raise money for borough purposes by ratepayers depositing with the Council thfeS’r" savings, that scheme has been in vogue iri Wanganui since .1909, and up to date £120,000 has been deposited. The rate of interest now given is 3J-per cent, and at present the Council - holds £24,000 of deposits.
