“NOES” IN FRONT.
THE FEDERAL ELECTIONS. NO FINALS YET. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.40 a.m.) Sydney, June 12. The counting of the absentee votes is exceptionally slow. No returns have been received from Hume since i Friday. When 1900 were uncounted, 1 a Liberal was leading by 590 votes. There is still a fighting chance of Sir William Lyne retaining his seat. This will destroy the Liberals’ apparj ent majority of one, McColl holding second place. Two other Liberal Senators in Victoria are crawling up towards the Labourites, who occupy the third and fourth places, a little over 1000 votes separating them.
THE REFERENDA. The figures are slowly mounting, the “noes” showing a majority on each issue. (Received 10.10 a.m.) The Referenda figures so far as as follows:—■ Trade Commerce.
