TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW SALES. Mr Newton King’s Report. On Tuesday, 3rd June, I held my usual four-weekly sale of above produce. The catalogue comprised 7 bales and 53 sacks wool; 2451 sheepskins, 22 casks, 80 tins, and 1 sack tallow, 772 hides and 226 calfskins,, besides the usual assortment of hair, tails, etc. There was a largo attend anco of buyers, competition being keen throughout the offering. Wool.—Very little now offering. Fleece and lambs very firm at late rates. This season’s crutchings not yet to hand*; I, however, expect a good offering at nest cataloguing. Sheepskins.—Very firm at late rates under spirited competition. Hides.—ln sympathy with the drop in the other markets, these, especially in heavy weights, were much easier. Ox hides declined up to | (for lights), to at times for henries. Ordinary cow receded from g to % according to weight. Superior cow (under varied competition) were at times up to $ lower whilst they also touched late rates.

Tallow.—At par with late rates. Keen demand. ' Calfskins.—Very few offering; prices firm. I quote Wool: Medium crossbred fleece BJd to 9d, coarse Bd, lambs coarse seedy Bd, dead inferior dead okl, crutchings (3 sacks only) s*d peices 5d to s|d, locks 3Jd, scoured lOd. .
