Birthday meeting the Royal Handicap was won by Kivasiua, Yalido being seeonu and Hebei third. Twenty-one horses started. Won by two lengths and a half, with three-quarters of a length between second and third. Time, limn 16seb. ADELAIDE BIRTHDAY MEETING. Adelaide, June 8At the Adelaide Birthday meeting the principal event resulted as follows BIRTHDAY CUP, of sovs. One ' mile. Broadsword, 8.5 ... ... 1 Orvieto, 7.3 ... ... 2 Aurifer, 8.8 3 Broadsword fought his way 'through brilliantly, and won by three-quar-ters of a length, 'with a similar distance between second and third 1 . 1 Fifteen horses started. Time, 2min 38 sec. QUEENSLAND AUTUMN MEETING Brisbane, June 8. At the Queensland Jockey Club’s autumn meeting the principal event, the Moreton Handicap, was won by Pongo, with Bdotan second and Wirral third. Pongo won by three-quar-ters of a length, with Wirral a length away, third. Time, 2min 38fsec. • * I ( ? ' _____ At Ellerslie during the Auckland Racing Club’s Winter Meeting the total amount put through during the eleven days’ racing was £401,912 10s, which is an increase of £34,935 as compared with last year. A comparison of the amounts during the past three years shows that in 1910-11 £269,228 was handled, in 1911-12 £366,989 10s, and in 1912-13 £401,924 10s.
