NO FOOTBALL MATCH AT NEW PLYMOUTH. [Per Press Association.] Mr P. Skoglund, secretary of the Taranaki Rugby Union, has received a letter from Captain Halsey, of H.M.S. New Zealand, in which he says:—"ln reply to your letter of May 29th, I beg to inform you that I have now decided that in view of the ship ly r ing so far out and lit an open anchorage, I cannot allow any officers or land.; I must; therefore,'decline your invitation to play football."'
