SLY-CROG IN ASHBURTON.
A £SO FINE. [Per Press Assooiatton.! -Ashburton. May 30. Edward Robert Hill appeared on a charge of keeping liquor for sale in a no-license district. Fourty-four bottles of whisky had been discovered by the police under the false bottom of a cupboard in defendant's kitchen a week ago, and consequently he did not attempt to defend the case. A fine of £SO was inflicted.
