HIS MAJESTY’S PICTURES
The usual change of programme will jiko place at Bernard’s Theatre this evening. There is promise of something extraordinary in the new star picture, “The Emerald Necklace,” for dthough there have been many films in which the antagonism of thief and detective have been displayed, it is i novelty to find a plot furnished by i conflict of wit between two thieves such desirous of becoming possessed of a valuable emerald necklace. Picklock and Corner are the two cracksmen in question, and one follows their daring deeds and ingenious stratagems with breathless interest right to the end. “The Laird’s Daughter,” the story of years of waiting caused by a lost letter is very pathetic, and points the moral that trust and perseverance lias always its reward. The programme is varied by scenic, topical, and comic subjects, a noteworthy picture under the latter heading being an Essanay production entitled “Love On Tough T uck Ranch.”
