A BURGLAR ON TRIAL.
ON A CHARGE OF MURDER. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright 1 [United Press Association.] (Received 9.10 a.m.) Sydney, May 27. Allen Man has been committed for trial for murdering Overton. In a statement to the police'he declared that he fired the first shot to frighten Overton, but did not intend to hit him. The second ohot ■was fired when Overton was holding him down, and he intended to hit him in the arm. He handed over the stolen jewellery at the time of his arrest.
